Tell us a little bit about yourself. How would you like to introduce yourself?
Hello, I am Inés Solà, a woman with artistic interests, I am dedicated to jewelry design. Always willing to learn, life is a continuous learning process and a source of inspiration.
I like to enjoy every moment, day by day, with family, friends, nature, music, reading... an authentic vitamin for me and my creative process.
Where do you currently live and where would you say home is?
I was born in Menorca and I have always lived on this wonderful island, this is my home. I don't feel there is another better place to live.
I couldn't be without its beaches, coves and the sea that surrounds us. The rocks, with their erosion from the North wind, the contrasts of colours, textures... also the Menorcan fields, highlighted by those waves in the form of dry walls... all always with that special, clean light and warmth of the sun that gives us a different sensation and tone at every moment of the day.
What does a work day and a day off consist of?
My daily work is very changing. I am lucky to be able to work at home where I have my own studio, where I would never leave when I go in. I create pieces, sometimes commissioned, and I enjoy the processes. Each collection is a challenge.
Other days I have to take care of paperwork, social networks... something I don't like so much but... it has to be done.
On my days off I always take the opportunity to go for a walk in the countryside or on the beach. If I can go by bike, I take advantage of it and enjoy it even more! I also meet up with friends and family.
How did jewelry become your main tool of expression?
I have always loved to create, since I was little I would make a figure with very little, I would put together a game... I loved giving away something made by me.
I have also always liked to draw and express myself through drawings. I feel that jewelry is a medium in which I can do all of this together and convey it through my pieces.
I love exhibiting my pieces, receiving each person's perception, some will be similar to mine and others completely different. It gives me a lot, it's a feeling that's difficult to explain.
What inspires you to create?
Mainly nature, in all its details and forms.
But I'm always attentive to anything, architecture also inspires me a lot.
I think that creative people are always on edge and every detail is very important to us, no matter how small it may be.
What is your favorite place in the world and why?
My favourite place in the world is the island of Menorca, it has almost everything, I say almost, because I recognise that travelling is important when living on an island, to open your mind and spirit from time to time.
People who have inspired you to be the woman you are today and why?
My mother, our life has not been easy and here we are, without her and her great determination, hard work and attitude, we would not have gotten to where and how we are today. I always have her in mind, because of everything I have experienced I know what I want and what I don't.
Other women writers and artists also inspire me, because of their lives and their work. To mention a few, Sonia Delaunay, Helen Williams...
What does it mean to you to be a conscious woman?
Being a woman who accepts her life and her emotions, and chooses to make her own decisions at all times. Confident and serene, always knowing who she is.
What do you value most in a bag?
Design, versatility, quality and price.
Visions of the future?
Having a good plan, developing my brand, enjoying the process and working, living it every day without rushing but without stopping. And above all, continuing to enjoy life!
